During October we took worn and shrunken wool sweaters to our partner agencies and showed how to transform them into darling mug cozies!

Participants had a lot of fun designing a cozy for their mug, water bottle, or travel mug. They learned how to sew buttons and some learned a few new decorative stitches.

Materials used: Worn sweaters, salvaged buttons

Skills taught: Sewing, using a template to cut material

A participant from Lydia’s House let us know that she learned “older materials can be useful, and practical items can be useful for artsy-craftsy stuff.”

A woman from Center for Women in Transition said she learned “a new activity to do with my kids, especially during holidays and such.”
