Carolyn Hasenfratz

I was raised in a DIY household by people who were thrifty, ecologically aware and liked to re-use things. My biggest inspiration is probably finding things that I can remake and designing something around them. I love to work with scrap wood, old furniture, recycled fabric and trim, old buttons and beads, vintage paper ephemera, salvaged hardware and much more.
My favorite styles to work in are vintage, grunge and Mid-Century Modern. Sometimes I blend the styles depending on the purpose of the project and the look that fits the materials I’m using. I combine new and repurposed materials often.
I work part-time at Schnarr’s Hardware. I’m a Master Gardener and I’ve contributed many articles to the Schnarr’s Blog (www.schnarrsblog.com) and the Garden Notes from Schnarr’s e-newsletter. I also teach craft classes at JoAnn Fabrics and Crafts and Perennial.
