Materials saved from the landfill:
fabric, fabric scraps, accent pillows
Skills you’ll learn:
patterning + assembling a pillow sham, improvisational piecing, machine quilting
Add custom, modern flair to your home by creating a new pillow sham for a tired-looking accent pillow! In this workshop, participants will use the sewing machine to create a new pillow cover from reclaimed fabrics. Participants will also get the chance to practice improvisational piecing to create custom patterns and designs in a free-form way. Piecing is a great way to use up smaller fabric scraps from previous projects. We’ll add a polished look to your pieced pillow with some machine quilting.
Participants should bring their own accent pillow to re-cover, no larger than 24″ x 24.” Students may also bring in their own fabric options or choose from a variety provided by Perennial.

Please note: participants should have prior experience with threading a sewing machine and sewing a straight stitch or have taken Perennial’s Sewing Machine Basics class.
