Introducing our new summer interns Catherine and Nancy!

Our summer interns with their work for the day

They go to the same school! They live in the same house! They carpool!

This summer Perennial is fostering two art students from Washington University who share our love of scavenging and our commitment to the environment. Previous to employment here, Nancy once found some top-notch windows in the trash, and Catherine frequently brags about the three wood tables she found near one dumpster.

This summer they will be taken under the Perennial wing, participating in many aspects of our organization, from program development to furniture design.

So far they’ve helped build a giant skink for the Skinker DeBalivere neighborhood, learned to strip paint the eco-friendly way, and helped create some of the small crafts for the store. Through the summer we’ll be checking back in on their intern activities here in the notebook. Stop by often!

Drillbit is unpaid like an intern, but he doesn't help much around the shop.
