DESCRIPTION:Materials saved from the landfill:\nlinoleum\, paper\, envelopes \nSkills you’ll learn:\nprint-making\, ink-making \nLinocut is a printmaking technique\, a variant of woodcut in which a sheet of linoleum is used for a relief surface. In this class you will literally be using linoleum salvaged from the landfill to carve your block. You will also learn a fast way to make your own print-making ink using Nori\, a Japanese rice paste\, pigment (we will use turmeric)\, and gin. We will print DIY style\, pressing your linocut against salvaged paper and rubbing the back with a wooden spoon. We will give you the skills and materials necessary to print your own cards at home. \n
