DESCRIPTION:Custom framing can be pricey\, but this DIY framing process will give you contemporary frames for just a few bucks + your time! Participants will leave this workshop with a handmade 8″x10″ wood picture frame. In the first session\, we will learn to cut frame stock from reclaimed 2x4s\, and practice measuring\, cutting\, and clamping custom sized frames. In the second session we’ll use framing tools to secure our work\, learn to cut glass\, and apply finishing touches to our wood and frame assembly. \n  \nPlease note\, this two-day workshop takes place on Saturdays\, January 23 + 30  from 10am – 12pm each day. \n

In this class\, you’ll learn how to tailor and rework thrifted button-downs into new\, wearable garments that reflect your personal style. Using basic sewing techniques + creative design choices\, you’ll transform everyday finds into something completely your own — and keep perfectly good clothes out of the landfill. \nNote: students should be able to thread + sew a straight stitch on a sewing machine. \n  \nWe’ll provide shirts for you to work with\, but if you have one that could use a refresh\, you’re encouraged to bring it along! \n
