DESCRIPTION:Our next swap will take place on Saturday\, August 23rd from 10am–12pm at the Quaker Meeting House at 1001 Park Avenue. \nWant to be the first to learn when swap tickets go on sale? Become a Reuser+ member to support Perennial’s non-profit mission and receive member benefits and updates. Join or upgrade today. \nHow exactly does it work?\nWe will be accepting clothing donations prior to the swap at the Meeting House (see dates and details below) so volunteers can pre-sort all items. No clothing donations will be accepted the day of the swap. You can donate clothes in good condition even if you are not planning to attend to ensure we have a wide selection. Volunteers will sort the clothes by item in advance and swappers will be able to browse and select clothes just like at a store. The great news is\, unlike a store\, you won’t pay by item for things you take home. DESCRIPTION:Join Urban Harvest STL and Perennial to learn how to harvest rainwater in your backyard and build a DIY rain barrel to take home. \nLearn how to transform a food-safe 55-gallon drum into a DIY rain barrel for your garden. We will cover how to modify the barrel\, create a base to elevate it\, and how to connect the barrel to your gutters for rain water harvesting at home. \nSpace is limited as each participant will take a rain barrel home. You will be responsible for transporting the barrel. Additional hardware may be required to connect to your gutters at home or to winterize your barrel\, but a basic setup will be provided. \nFor a gutter connection\, this project will only work for rectangular gutters that are 2″ x 3″ or 3″ x 4″ (Please confirm your gutters are compatible ahead of registration). DESCRIPTION:Join us for a community repair event! Volunteers will be on hand to help you figure out and possibly fix household items. The event is FREE to attend\, but repair volunteers will charge their own rates for repairs. A Repair Fair is a fun way to learn about repair\, save money\, and keep things from going into the trash! \nLet us know you’re coming and grab a free ticket above! Interested in being one of our volunteer repairers?\nPlease fill out our volunteer registration form to let us know you’re interested! \nWhat to Expect:\nWhen you arrive at Perennial with your broken items\, you will check in at the front desk. If you’ve brought an item to be repaired\, you will be directed to the appropriate Repair Station where you will wait for the volunteer repair person to assess your item. Volunteers can spend up to 30 minutes repairing a single item. If your repair takes longer than 30 minutes\, your volunteer repair person may offer to complete the repair for pick up at a later date\, encourage you to continue the repair at home\, or refer you to a repair shop. After your item is repaired\, or if you don’t bring an item to be repaired\, you will be free to roam about the fair to observe repairs and collect information from each Repair Station. We can’t guarantee that any or all of your items will be repaired at the event\, and as with all repairs\, there is a slight chance your item could be damaged in the process\, but that doesn’t mean we won’t give it our best shot! \nWhat can I bring to be repaired?\nDamaged items\, or images of damaged items\, that you are not sure how to repair! \nTake a look at our previous Repair Stations for ideas: \n– Leather Repair \n– Bike Repair \n– Electronic Repair \n– Jewelry Repair \n– Clothing Repair \n– Crochet Repair \n– Wood Item + Furniture Repair \n*If you’re looking to have an unusual item repaired\, email community@perennialstl.org with a description and a picture to see if we can help you out! \nHow many broken items can I bring?\nYou are welcome to bring multiple items to be repaired; however\, to reduce the wait time for each attendee\, one broken item per person will be examined at a time. DESCRIPTION:Our next swap will take place on Saturday\, May 24th from 10am–12pm at the Quaker Meeting House at 1001 Park Avenue. \nPlease note\, this is Memorial Day weekend so if you will be out of town we hope to see you at our next summer swap.\nOn the other hand\, if you have friends visiting be sure to get them a ticket!\nHow exactly does it work?\nWe will be accepting clothing donations prior to the swap at the Meeting House (see dates and details below) so volunteers can pre-sort all items. No clothing donations will be accepted the day of the swap. You can donate clothes in good condition even if you are not planning to attend to ensure we have a wide selection. Volunteers will sort the clothes by item in advance and swappers will be able to browse and select clothes just like at a store. The great news is\, unlike a store\, you won’t pay by item for things you take home.
