SUMMARY:Community Clothing Swap
DESCRIPTION:Our next swap will take place on Saturday\, May 16 from 10am–12pm at the Quaker Meeting House at 1001 Park Avenue. \nWant to be the first to learn when swap tickets go on sale? Become a Reuser+ member to support Perennial’s non-profit mission and receive member benefits and updates. Join or upgrade today. \nHow exactly does it work?\nWe will be accepting clothing donations prior to the swap at the Meeting House (see dates and details below) so volunteers can pre-sort all items. No clothing donations will be accepted the day of the swap. You can donate clothes in good condition even if you are not planning to attend to ensure we have a wide selection. Volunteers will sort the clothes by item in advance and swappers will be able to browse and select clothes just like at a store. The great news is\, unlike a store\, you won’t pay by item for things you take home. Instead\, we will weigh your clothes to know how many pounds we are diverting from the landfill. \nWhat’s included in my ticket?\n\nClothes\, community\, coffee\, and cookies! \nWhen and where can I drop off clothes to donate to the swap?\nDonations can be dropped off at the following dates and times: \n\nSaturday May 9th from 11-5pm @ Perennial – This is the only Perennial drop-off time!\nWednesday-Thursday\, May 13th + 14th from 4:00-6:00pm @ the Meeting House\nFriday\, May 15th from 12-5:00pm @ the Meeting House\n\nYou do not need to purchase a ticket to donate clothing! \nIf this is your first time attending a swap or you want a refresher\, we encourage you to read all of the details and frequently asked questions here.

We hope you’ll stop by to meet Allison\, connect\, share stories\, and help us thank Katie for her leadership! \nThis is a BYOB (Bring-Your-Own Blanket) event. Don’t forget your reusable containers if you’re bringing your own snacks and drinks. No time to cook or prep? No problem! We recommend grabbing something at Local Harvest or the following\, Green Dining Alliance approved\, restaurants nearby: \n\nThe Royale\nAlpha Brewing Company\nPizzaHead\nLona’s Lil Eats\nBuzz’s Hawaiian Grill\n\nThis is a free and family-friendly drop-in event. We want to celebrate with you! SUMMARY:Repair Fair
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a community repair event! The Repair Fair is a fun way to learn about repair\, save money\, and keep things from going into the trash. Handy volunteers will be on site to help you figure out and possibly fix your broken items. \n  \nLet us know you’re coming + grab a free ticket above!\nThe event is free to attend\, but repairers may charge their own rates for repairs. \n  \nWhat to Expect:\nWhen you arrive\, you will check in at Perennial’s front desk. Whether or not you bring an item to be repaired\, we welcome you to roam about the fair’s various Repair Stations to learn about different repairs. If you’ve brought an item to be repaired\, you will be directed to the appropriate Repair Station where you will wait for the volunteer to assess your item. Volunteers can spend up to 30 minutes repairing a single item. If the volunteer estimates that your repair will take longer than 30 minutes\, they may offer to complete the repair for pick up at a later date\, encourage you to continue the repair at home\, or refer you to a repair shop. We can’t guarantee that any or all of your items will be repaired at the event\, and as with all repairs\, there is a slight chance your item could be damaged in the process. But that doesn’t mean we won’t give it our best shot! \n  \nWhat can I bring to be repaired?\nDamaged items\, or pictures of damaged items\, that you are not sure how to repair! \nThe Repair Station list is still in the works\, but take a look at past stations for ideas of what you could bring: \n\nLeather Repair\nBike Repair\nElectronic Repair\nJewelry Repair\nClothing Repair\nWood Item + Furniture Repair\n\n  \nHow many broken items can I bring?\nYou are welcome to bring multiple items to be repaired; however\, to reduce the wait time for each attendee\, one broken item per person will be examined at a time. If there is time after your first repair for another item\, you will jump to the end of the line at the next (or the same) Repair Station. \n  \nWhat is NOT accepted?\n\nItems too large or heavy for one person to carry *If your item is too large\, consider bringing in a photo.\nItems containing hazardous and/or flammable materials\nUnwashed clothing\n\nIf you’re looking to have an unusual item repaired\, email events@perennialstl.org with a description + a picture to see if we can help you out. \nWe can’t wait to see you there! \n  \nInterested in being one of our volunteer repairers?\nPlease fill out our volunteer registration form. \n
