You don’t need to go out and buy new products to reduce waste at home — you can make them yourself from reclaimed materials! There are so many ways to help keep common disposables out of your daily self-care routine. In this workshop, we’ll go over best practices to reduce the amount of waste in your toiletries and cosmetics, including some tips for making your own beauty + hygiene products. Then, we’ll make a few items that you can put to use right away. Replace disposable facial scrubs/makeup removers with a set of reusable cotton rounds, stitch up your own soap saver bag to use your bar soap to the very last bit, and make an adorable bathroom organizer jar from an old food container + found hardware! You’ll have time to craft all of these projects in the informative and fun workshop!
This is a live virtual class that will be conducted via Zoom. Participants will be sent info on how to participate prior to the class. You may pick up a kit of materials (burlap, cotton flannel, jar, hardware, etc) on Thursday-Friday, October 22-23 from 11a-5pm, or email us at email@example.com if you need to pick up outside of this time range. A sewing machine will make cotton rounds go faster, but instructor will show you how to hand sew them as well if you do not have a machine.
