Materials saved from the landfill:
copper wire, magazines
Skills you’ll learn:
basic jewelrymaking, paper beads
Learn to form copper from scrap electrical wiring and best practices for making paper beads in this upcycled jewelry workshop! With salvaged magazine pages, you’ll make your own glue solution to create lots of colorful, rigid beads. While your beads dry, you’ll use snips and pliers to bend salvaged electrical copper into a fitted cuff bracelet.
This is a virtual class that will be conducted via Zoom. Participants will be emailed a link to participate prior to class. You will be able to pickup a kit of materials containing copper, cut magazine strips, glue, skewer roller, and string on Thursday-Friday November 19-20, 11a-5pm, or can email email@example.com to arrange another time. If needed, you may also rent tools from us, including a set of pliers, wire cutter, and ruler, but you must add the refundable tool deposit to your cart to rent these tools.
