Skills you’ll learn:
zippers, pattern reading, choosing fabrics, stitches
Feel confident stitching on your sewing machine, but want to take your skills to the next level? Join this Level 2 sewing class to learn all the unique features of the sewing machine that can help you tackle your next big project! We’ll cover topics ranging from sewing specialty fabrics, to following basic patterns, to getting wacky and having fun with the machine as a craft or sculpting tool. You’ll leave with knowledge about specialty sewing machine feet and how to use them, selecting the right stitch for different projects, and how to use your machine to tackle zippers, buttonholes, and more.
Participants should have basic knowledge of how to use a sewing machine or have taken Perennial’s Sewing Machine Basics workshop.
This is a virtual class that will be conducted via Zoom. Participants will be emailed information about how to participate prior to the class. You may pickup kits containing a variety of sample fabrics, a zipper, a pattern, and bias tape on Thursday, January 21, 11a-5pm, or email firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange another time. In your home, you will need to have a sewing machine, full thread, full bobbin, scissors, iron, seam ripper, zipper foot, and a variety of needles, including a universal, denim, stretch/jersey, and silk. If you do not have a variety of needles, you may add them to your cart at checkout to purchase from Perennial + add to your kit.
