Materials saved from the landfill:
salvaged leather remnants
Skills you’ll learn:
eyelet setting, hole punching, saddle stitch, bonding leather
Craft your own simple wallet using salvaged leather! In this workshop, participants will use a template to cut + punch leather, then bind it together using the saddle stitch. You’ll learn how to set eyelets to add decorative + functional hardware to your wallet, and you’ll create an optional tassel to adorn your key ring. Color choices for leather + hardware can be made upon pickup.
This is a virtual class that will be conducted via Zoom. Participants will be emailed a link to participate prior to class. You will be able to pickup a kit of materials containing leather, rivets, eyelets, leather tape, thread, and key ring on Thursday or Friday, January 28-29, 11am to 5pm, or you can email email@example.com to arrange another time. If needed, you may also rent leatherworking tools, including a leather punch, eyelet setter, fabric scissors, and hammer, but you must add the refundable tool deposit to your cart to rent these tools.
