Skills you’ll learn:
making a pattern
Is your favorite blouse worn threadbare? Finally found the perfectly fitting pair of pants, and they’ve been discontinued? Now you can learn to recreate your favorite pieces! Participants in this class will learn how to create a sewing pattern from an existing garment. This class will demonstrate how to trace flat pattern pieces, as well as incorporate some basic design details such as darts, pleats, and collars.
This class is best suited for those who have previously sewn from a pattern, and students will need to take our Sewing Machine Basics workshop or have basic knowledge of how to use the sewing machine to sew a straight stitch.
This is a live virtual class that will be conducted via Zoom, and participants will receive information about how to participate by email prior to the class. This is a demonstration-based class, but if you’d like to try making a pattern along with the class, plan to have large craft paper (like old gift wrap), scissors, your garment, marking tools, and your sewing machine.
