Perfect for protecting your head from the summer sun, bucket hats are also a blast to make! Learn to draft your own bucket hat pattern fitted to the noggin of your choice in this workshop. Once you’ve completed your first hat, you’ll be able to make matching ones for the rest of your family and friends. You’ll gain pattern-making skills applicable to any other simple sewing project in your future, practice sewing curved seams, and learn to use structural fabric to appropriately strengthen your makes.
Before participating in this workshop, students will need to take our Sewing Machine Basics workshop or have basic knowledge of how to use the sewing machine to sew a straight stittch.
This is a live virtual class that will be conducted via Zoom, and participants will receive information about how to participate by email prior to the class. You will be able to pickup a kit of supplies containing thread, fabric, pins, and other needed materials on Thursday, June 24 from 11a-5pm, or email email@example.com to arrange a different time. You must have a sewing machine in working order setup at home, and you will need scissors and an iron as well. Fabric is chosen upon pickup, or you may provide your own.
