Skills you’ll learn:
Create a versatile bag that has a pocket for all your zero-waste picnic accessories from plates, to silverware, to wine glasses! In this workshop, you’ll learn to sew a durable picnic tote from a pattern designed by artist and instructor Jenny Murphy. We’ll cover a range of skills and techniques including designing bags, sewing canvas and other thick materials, and customizing patterns. This tote will be your go-to for outdoor spring gatherings or the perfect gift for your nature-loving friends!
Before participating in this workshop, students will need to take our Sewing Machine Basics workshop or have basic knowledge of how to use the sewing machine to sew a straight and zig-zag stitch.
This is a live virtual class that will be conducted via Zoom, and participants will receive information about how to participate by email prior to the class. You will be able to pickup a kit of supplies containing thread, fabric, pins, and a pattern on Tuesday, Decemer 8, 3-5pm, or email firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a different time. You must have a sewing machine in working order setup at home, and you will need scissors and an iron as well.
