Gather up old sheets, clothes or scrap fabric pieces and transform these rags into a beautiful rug! The class will cover the basics of making a crocheted rag rug out of recycled fabrics. This workshop will cover from start to finish how to construct a rag rug, from cutting the fabric to simple crochet techniques, including the chain stitch and single crochet stitch. Participants will get started on a small circular rug which they can finish crafting at their leisure! Class fee includes fabric and a handmade crochet hook. You are welcome to use your own cotton bed sheets or t-shirts to customize your rug colors.
This is a live virtual class that will be conducted via Zoom, and participants will be emailed information about how to participate prior to the class. You will be able to pickup a kit of supplies, including a handmade crochet hook and a selection of yarns (please include a note about color palette in your order). This kit may be picked up on Thursday-Friday, February 4-5 from 11a-5p, or email email@example.com to arrange another time. You will need to provide your own scissors, and a rotary cutter with cutting mat is optional.
