wrapping burlap + t-shirt yarn, plant care

The word kokedama literally means ‘moss ball’ in Japanese and is an ancient form of plant display. In this class you will learn how to adapt this technique to green up your indoor space. Use discarded burlap coffee bags and t-shirts to create a wrap for your plant. This class will cover the various types of indoor plants, soil, wraps and ties used to create these little green friends. Maintenance and care for your kokedama will also be discussed, as well as propogating succulents. Plan to create a pair of kokedama planters for your home!

This is a live virtual class that will be conducted via Zoom. Material kits are provided for this craft (soil, burlap, t-shirt yarn, plants), and can be pickup up from 12:00 – 2:00pm on Friday, May 22. Email classses@perennialstl.org if you need to pickup outside of this range. You will need to provide water, a bowl or bucket for mixing, and scissors.
