Event Navigation

Materials saved from the landfill:
lath wood, twine

Skills you’ll learn:
sawing, drilling, hanging a shelf

Learn to build a unique plant stand out of reclaimed material! Participants will use both power tools and hand tools to create an original design in reclaimed lath wood that will make an ideal home for any vining or hanging plants. During this class, folks will learn about different kinds of wood cuts, how to make them, and when to use them. Leave with a ready-to-hang piece to keep your plants happy!

This is a virtual class that will be conducted via Zoom. Participants will be emailed information on how to participate prior to the class. You will need to pickup a kit of materials containing plywood, lath, twine, glue, and nails on August 27 or August 28, 11a-5pm. If you do not have your own handsaw (Western carpenter saw or Japanese pull saw), miter box, speed square, hammer and drill, you will need to rent from Perennial for a refundable $50 Tool Deposit.
