Tickets for the December Clothing Swap must be purchased in advance, we will still have limited capacity. Masks must be worn at all times. Your ticket indicates the time slot for you to swap.  Thanks everyone!

Perennial’s Community Clothing Swap is an amazing way to get a new wardrobe with the earth in mind! You bring clothes you no longer want (but are still in fine shape) and take home new-to-you items from the swap. We’ve got lots of details below so please read through the entire FAQ before buying your ticket.

We will still be accepting clothing donations from folks who do not plan to attend the swap.

Mark your calendar for the 2021 Clothing Swaps 2/14, 4/11, 6/13, 8/15, 10/10 and 12/12.

*Swaps will continue to be socially distanced with appointment based timeslots until otherwise noted.

Clothes can be donated during the following shop hours

December 2, 3, 4 during shopping hours 11-5pm

December 9, 10, 11 during shopping hours 11-5pm

All clothing donations must be dropped off in advance so that we can pre-sort the items.

SWAP FAQs:

How does it work?
We will be accepting clothing donations prior to the swap (see dates above) so volunteers can pre-sort all items . No clothing donations will be accepted the day of the swap. You can donate clothes in good condition even if you are not planning to attend to ensure we have a wide selection. Volunteers will sort the clothes by item in advance.

You will select your timeslot and buy your ticket in advance. We will only be selling a maximum of 15 tickets for each timeslot so that even with staff and volunteers there are no more than 16 people in the entire shop at a time. Ticket prices have increased to account for the limited number of people we will be able to accommodate and the extra time that will need to go into managing this new swap. Even with these price increases we are not able to make the amount we normally would before COVID and any additional donations to fund our mission of creative reuse are always appreciated!

You will come during your designated time (if you arrive early please wait in your car until it is time to swap) and have access to any of the clothes in the shop. We will have arrows on the floor to help guide you in one direction through the shop.  You will maintain social distance from other folks and if you need to go back to a certain area you can make a loop around the shop.

Masks are required to be worn at all times by everyone!

What does it cost to attend?
Due to restrictions on the number of people who can attend during social distancing we have created tiered pricing. While everyone will have the same amount of time to swap (30 minutes) the people who want first pick of items will pay a little more and the people at the end of the swap will pay a lower price but may have less selection. Ticket prices range from $5-$25 depending on the time.

Can I pay at the door?
Sorry not this time! To make sure we are sticking to only a set number of people in the shop at a time you will need to purchase your ticket in advance to this swap and you will only be able to swap during your time slot. Swaps do sell out.

What items can I bring?

Dresses / Shorts / Skirts / Shirts / Pants / Jeans / Shoes / Jewelry / Jackets + Coats/ Bags / Sunglasses/ Scarves + Hats

We do not accept children’s items or home goods. Thank you for understanding!

Will there be limits on what I can take?

Not at this time. One of the great things about the swap is that we want as much clothing to find new homes as possible so normally there is no restriction.  We do ask that you’re mindful of folks who are coming later in the day and kindly request no resellers or swapping for other friends not attending the swap on their own.

Does my ticket include refreshments?

With a limited timeframe and required masks we will not be offering refreshments while you swap until social distancing measures are relaxed.

Can I donate kids clothing?
Sorry, we are not accepting kids clothes for the swap. Just clothing and accessories for adults!

What happens to the leftover clothing?
We partner with social service agencies to give women in our Outreach programs access to any of the clothes and Perennial volunteers take the items that can be used in the workshop for classes and events.  Then, the leftover items are donated to Remains, Inc., a local textile recycling company.

What if I have clothes in pretty bad shape that are no longer wearable?

While we always encourage folks to do their best to extend the life of clothing through proper care and mending we know sometimes you have textiles that are no longer wearable and probably wont be taken from the swap. We request you take these items directly to remains so our volunteers don’t spend extra time sorting and hanging these clothes.

Can I volunteer?

Yes! We are now accepting additional volunteers for the Sunday morning of the swap. Please email Katie@perennialstl.org for details and to be added to the list.

Class Policy

Cancellation Policy: Perennial reserves the right to cancel, combine or reschedule classes to adjust for enrollment. If Perennial cancels a class, you may transfer to another class or receive a full refund.

Refund Policy: Notice of withdrawal from a workshop must be made at least 14 days prior to the start of the class. No refunds will be given for withdrawals made after that time. No refunds or credits will be given for classes missed due to illness, personal conflict or other reasons. There are no exceptions to this policy. Please e-mail classes@perennialstl.org if you wish to withdraw from a workshop.
