Materials saved from the landfill:
t-shirts, bed sheets, denim fabrics
Skills you’ll learn:
Gather up old sheets, clothes or scrap fabric pieces and transform these rags into a beautiful rug! The class will cover the basics of making a braided rag rug out of recycled fabrics, including how to cut, join, braid and stitch a variety of fabric strips into a colorful braided circular or oblong rag rug. Participants will get started on a small rug which they can take home and finish crafting at their leisure! Class fee includes fabric, but you are welcome to bring in your own cotton bed sheets, t-shirts, or denim to customize your rug colors.
